    Location: Enfield – Hybrid (occasional evening/weekend working).

    Salary: £33,075 – £42,000

    Hours: 37.5

    Reporting to: Head of Business Services

    Christian Action Housing Association is proud to be a local landlord providing homes and services across the North and East London region, managing around 1600 homes. We manage mixed tenure housing stock, including independent living and the provision of supported housing accommodation and services for young people.

    Engagement with our residents to key to the Association and this newly created role will be integral in enhancing and promoting engagement across all our services.

    Some of the core responsibilities of the role will include:

      • Maintain open and effective communication channels between residents and housing management, ensuring that residents’ voices are heard and considered.
      • Working with the housing team, organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and meetings to foster a sense of community and encourage resident involvement.
      • Provide training and support to residents on various topics, empowering them to actively participate in community affairs and decision-making i.e. tenant portal
      • Maintain records of resident involvement, feedback, and engagement activities for reporting on agreed key performance indicators and the Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSM’s).
      • Collaborate with other departments, community organizations, and key stakeholders to create opportunities for resident empowerment and community improvement
      • Regularly review and update website content to ensure accuracy and relevance relating to tenant engagement and about us pages and effectively manage the tenant portal.

    Requirements

    Essential

      • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
      • At least 2 years of proven experience in community engagement preferably within a residential, complex customer facing regulatory or social housing
        setting.
      • Skilled at analysing customer segments and characterisation.
      • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (especially a good standard of business writing), with the ability to engage and interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
      • Demonstrable creativity in developing different ways of engaging with people; e.g., design; different ways of engaging with people; comfortable in different scenarios; speech writing and presentations.
      • Strong organisation skills, capable of managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
      • Empathy, understanding, and a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the community.
      • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
      • Able to work and adhere to professional boundaries.
      • Proficiency in using computer software and platforms for data management, communication, and reporting.
      • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and address challenges related to resident involvement.
      • Self-motivated and flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate community events.
      • Able to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
      • Proven ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

     

    Desirable

      • A good understanding and knowledge of social housing context, and/or housing legislation, i.e. Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSM’s).
      • Knowledge of the impact of social and economic disadvantage.
      • Enjoy working with people across the business at all levels.
      • Knowledge in the regulatory environment or consumer standards.
      • Familiar / comfortable with communities the Association serve.
